About me

Hi there!

I'm Gaëlle Lalonde! I'm a French-Canadian illustrator and surface designer living in Leipzig, Germany. (Yes, that makes me fluent in French, English, and German!) Drawing and creating aren't only what I do; they are part of who I am and how I express myself. Inspired by nature's beauty and misfits' charm, I enjoy bringing my imagination to life through art.

I specialize in intricate and quirky illustrations perfect for children's books and bright, colourful products. My artistic style combines the warmth of colouring pencils with the versatility of digital and vector illustrations.

My artistic journey:
✷ Degree with honours in Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
✷ Masters in Illustration at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany.
✷ Collaboration with various organizations, including the University of Leipzig (Germany) the German Red Cross and many small businesses, where I focused on illustration and graphic design.
✷ Creation of products for my children's clothing brand Merle Kids.
✷ Continuing education with The Good Ship Illustration.

When I'm not being creative, you might find me enjoying this little life with my husband and two kids, training for aerial silks, or exploring the great outdoors on my bike.
